The Only Good Politic, Is A Dead Politic
When considering political candidates, there are no right choices. The fact remains- potential candidates are just flawed human beings like the rest of us. Some perhaps start out with righteous intent and the idea they may be able to bring about change for the better. But in fact, most politicians are far worse than the average person. In order to become a successful politic; lying, manipulating and ethical sacrifice must be part of daily routine. The only way anything will ever change, the only way people will ever be rid of corruption, ethical blindness and so on is too be rid of government (or at least what most believe a government implies).
“A rational anarchist believes that such concepts as ‘state’ and ‘society’ and ‘government’ have no existence save as physically exemplified in the acts of self-responsible individuals.”
                                                                                     - Robert A. Heinlein
Anarchy can be practical and logical, but seems to be out of reach in regards to human sociological evolution. There is no need for government, but people must come to believe it for themselves. Instead people are afraid- ironically people are afraid of their own government, and afraid of an absence of government. And since political progression is slow, and can be especially violent (revolution)- fear will most certainly keep anarchical evolution at bay indefinitely.
It would seem people are not yet ready to function freely- free from governmental routine. Anarchy is what most people think, when actually thinking of chaos and disorder. Anarchy simply means absence of government. Many do not understand there is simply no need for a governing body and law enforcers. Examples of successful anarchical society’s are evident in many of the Native Americans tribes. Most tribes lived fruitfully and well in accordance with each other and progressed as a society. There was of course dispute and warfare, but such is inevitable and seem to be traits of human nature. There is also warfare, quite commonly, in today’s modern government ruled era.
An absence of law doesn’t always have to mean an absence of order. Crime would be treated much the same as it is in most government controlled societies. It would be dealt with privately, using informal judges with respectable reputations. Failure to comply would result in a consequential public record, which would directly affect ones ability to buy, sell, trade, etc.
It is important not to abandon morality because of a lack of legality. Ethics and goodwill are applied today much as they would continue to be in an Anarchical society. Do people really need to be threatened, constantly supervised and severely punished just to act accordingly, just to live? It would seem that people are too often willing to sacrifice freedom for a feeling of security. Government does not buy security. People are simply paying for a reduction in liberty and an absence of independence.
“I see no need for any other, nor for any method of enforcing. But if you really believe that your neighbors must have laws for their own good, why shouldn’t you pay for it? Comrades, I beg you – do not resort to compulsory taxation. There is no worse tyranny than to force a man to pay for what he does not want merely because you think it would be good for him.”
                                                                                     -Robert A. Heinlein
People posses the ability to properly govern and exact justice themselves. It would seem an obvious, almost instinctive matter fashioned through evolution. If given the opportunity (the freedom)- I believe people would coexist peacefully and eventually do away with crime, almost completely. People would live (more) accordingly and develop a sense of rightfulness, respect and common understanding for one another. Society would then progress and so would the quality of living. All of which is only an evolutionary step away.
